A Teenager Inspires Her Drinking Classmates To Get More Information About Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism

Diane drank to an excess on a regular basis with her buddies. One Tuesday after all of her classes were finished, she began reflecting on the amount of alcohol she ingested on a regular basis and the irresponsible drinking of her buddies. As a result of this, she politely asked all of her friends the following question: “what do we really know about alcohol abuse, alcohol poisoning, alcoholism, and binge drinking? For our young age, we clearly drink in a hazardous and excessive manner and I am really beginning to wonder if we are headed for a life filled with alcohol-related problems in the not so distant future.

It shouldn’t come as a big shock that what Diane stated would result in a heated discussion. As a case in point, her closest friend since the tenth grade, Mallory, articulated that they are too young and too healthy to be concerned about abusive and excessive drinking. Another buddy named Alfred stated that since most junior high and high school students drink there’s no solid reason why they should be any different. Another pal named Bailey said that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her pals. And still another classmate named Holden in fact agreed with Diane primarily because both of his parents abused alcohol and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related problems.

Diane openly stated to her buddies that she understood everything that they had articulated but that engaging in careless and irresponsible drinking at such a susceptible age in reality can’t be very healthy or something that contributes toward developing a meaningful life. When some of her friends asked what kind of alcohol issues Diane was talking about, Diane stated the following: alcohol-related diseases such as heart disease, cirrhosis of the liver, and cancer and other alcohol-related problems like alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances), and alcoholism.

When Diane then mentioned that irresponsible and careless drinking typically results in relationship, legal, financial, and school problems, some of her drinking buddies finally started to understand how wide-ranging and how devastating hazardous and abusive drinking can be. To be sure some of her classmates became more “open” and started to tell how these alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse effects had adversely affected their parents and some of their friends.

After listing some of the alcoholism and alcohol abuse problems that are related to unhealthy and abusive drinking, the majority of her drinking pals seemed to agree to the idea about getting information on the web. They were, conversely, cautious about discussing their drinking circumstances with staff at school. As Diane thought about this she told herself, “at least they are willing to find out more about their irresponsible and hazardous drinking. This is a fantastic start.”
